Hello everyone! Thanks for all the e-mails and inquiries. I hope you are all enjoying being snowed in and frozen to death during the storm of the century. Things are going well, but today was a tough day for some reason. Currently I have 5 dollars left and I’m waiting on one card to arrive from the U.S. and I have to wait 10 days for my bank card here to work. The bad thing is that I need to buy a new Metro pass (47.50 euros) until then I’m buying per trip (1 euro). I tried to go to the bank today and of course they close at 2:30 p.m. (I arrived at 2:45).
Um, I’ve had both my intercambio language exchanges and they’ve been interesting. My first one was with Alberto you is currently out of a job and trying to brush up on his spanish. Instead of sitting and talking we walked all over Madrid. We started at 4:30 and finished at 7:00. Now don’t get me wrong the exercise was good, but I walked for 2.5 hours. My feet hurt. Today I met with Cristóbal, who is a history professor. He is 45 I think and is not what I consider a professor, but it’s Spain so whatever. He currently works on a T.V. show set called Águila Roja (Red Eagle) which is a show about Spain in the Medieval days. He also showed me a lot of places to eat and where to get a good fried calamari sandwich. He had café, a beer, and another beer + tapa. Let’s just say I’ll need to plan more accordingly with my money the next time.
I’m home for the night and though I’d put up a few more pictures of my Palacio Real trip now that the slideshow thing is working. Let me know which way you guys prefer to see my pictures please.
After finishing this post I want an Arni’s Jr., free drink refills, a good movie night with friends, and ice cream. All of those unavailable as of yet in Spain.
